ICART CONTROL

iCart-Control

iCarts will operate autonomously or as slaves under the supervision of iCart-Control.

iCart-Control offers a simple ready made solution to enable operators to request action from the iCart system. Pushbutton units  can be added allowing operators to directly request service from an iCart. iCart-Control can communicate wirelessly or via an I/O network to direct iCarts to perform specific tasks such as:

  • Request an iCart to travel to a specific station.
  • Send an iCart from a station to another specific station.
  • manage a queue of iCarts

Alternatively you can communicate directly from your own IT equipment using WiFi through optional ethernet interface units.  It is even possible to direct an iCart via an Excel spreadsheet!

iCart-Control for push and pull systems

There are 2 basic approaches to controlling the movement of iCarts in a system.

push

An operator sends an iCart to a station.  You can do this without any additional control.  The trolley tag contains the destination information.  Pressing the iCart start button starts the process off.

pull

An operator requests an iCart from a station.  PULL systems are often implemented using pushbuttons mounted at stations.  These are connected to a controller, either through an IO network or wirelessly, that directs the iCarts to destinations via WiFi.

Up to 32 stations can be handled by iCart Control.
